stash bash

I did not see a new stash bash post over at Crunchy Catholic Momma so I am just linking to her last stash bash post, enjoy

The first purse is mine, from my stash. The yellow flower is from my daugters stash that she made on her own.

book marks for bible study, the ribbon and beads are from my stash, I figure how ever I can get it used up :)

This doll is for a sweet girl in Michigan,

some felt place mats and a table runner,

a cute little doll for a friends daughter

this skirt was given to us and the elastic waistband was majorly stretched out, so I replaced it with some elastic from my stash, that counts as a stash basher, right??

I hope you have a blessed weekend

Stash Bash 3/30/12

I had some help with my stash bash this week. She is making a pilgrim dress to go along with her history lesson. I have decided that with each main time period she studies we will make a costume to along with it. I easily have enough in my stash to accommodate at least through the rest of the year.

I ended up sewing around this mess all day :( I just didn't feel like clearing  it away. Mainly because there is no where to put it. I have 2 closets dedicated to my sewing stash, and 15 storage tubs in my storage unit filled with my stash. Can you say support group???

I finished this cute dress with matching hair bow to take to market over the summer.

Same for this boy's romper. It will be for market, as soon as I get some snaps for the legs.

I am thinking about making a bunch of these in different saints. And a Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

This is for a sweet little girl over in Michigan I know. As soon as I finish the bloomers.

Have a blessed weekend!!
And don't forget to head over to Crunchy Catholic Momma to see some more cool and fun posts on stash bashing. There are some really awesome ideas!!

Saturday, day 3

Saturday day 3, Today started out by me waking up late, I don't know what it is about this week but the only day I didn't wake up late was Tuesday, which I guess is all that really matters because Tuesday I have Adoration. Although I spent more then half the time talking to the lady that is there before me, long story short she is the Adoration cordinator, and I am her parish council representative, and we use our old church as a Adoration chapel, but like everywhere money is tight and we might not be keeping it. Sssoooo, she was letting me know how the people who attend Adoration feel about that. But that's nothing to do with nothing. Anyway, I got up and started some laundry grabbed Maria and flew out the door to go to walmart before my husband had to leave for work. came home and threw a bowl of cereal at the starving children sitting around my table. And now to start sewing. Way to much to do and only about 3 weeks until the craft show. Yikes!! The children are playing quietly for now ; )

This has been one of those weeks where I need to decide if its worth the fight. My son who is 12 just has not wanted to do his work, he has just a bit to catch up on, really an hour or so of work if he would just sit down and do it, and he is just not willing to do, fussing and asking to take a break after not doing anything for 2 hours. So do I make him sit and do the work?? Or say this is why we home school so that when he is having an off week he can step back, put the work down and come back to it with renewed interest. The thing is I want him to get it done so we can be down except the little bit of group work we do after our morning bible study, I have tons of things racing through my mind, and would love to be able to say; school, CHECK so I have one less thing to think about.
V.B.S.is only 2 weeks away and I have so much to do still, next week will be a busy one.
Over at wardrobe refashion I got tons of ideas and can not wait to start sewing!! oh, if only there were more hours in the day, or I didn't need to sleep, : )

sewing, phones, gratituesday all in one!

Well I will start with my Gratituesday,
I am grateful for so many things it is always hard to chose just one!
I am grateful for the basics, a warm house, lights, food. It is very easy to overlook these "small" things. But unfortunately many people do not have what many of us think of as basics.
Join me ain a quick prayer for them,

Heavenly Father we pray that you watch over all those who will go without food and shelter today, especially children and elderly, protect them and give them the graces they need to make it through their day.
Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end Amen.

Well we are getting rid of our house phone! I am very nervous about this. I am a person who is always trying to limit the technology in our house. I prefer to hang out and read or talk then to sit in front of the t.v. I do enjoy blogs but really am only on maybe for 10-15 minutes in the morning and then again after the kids go to bed. I finally talked my husband into getting rid of the cable, I can not stand the commercials that are on. Even on the history channel on a Sunday afternoon. I would rather just not watch t.v. Plus I am much more productive without it on. We did not even have internet until about 4 years ago, and the cable we got 2 years ago, and had a contract for 2 years. So when I say finally I mean our contract is up and I talked him into not signing back up. I helped that the fee would have gone up as well and my husband hate to spend money, hehe. But back to the phones, so we have cell phones ( we were the last few Americans that until now did not have cell phones, not even 1) and ported our home number into my line. Which is great because I have my phone number all over the place for my home business and things at church. But I do not like cellphones, they are full of radiation. I am not to keen on radiating my brain. Although I do like my new phone, and all its gadgets. The alarms, calendars, and email are pretty nifty. And it is pink! My husband got a much fancier touch phone with full internet. I went with the one that was free after rebate and the one we got for the kids to share was also free and very simple. But I could not let there not be a phone in the house, so the kids phone is for emergency use only.
Finally to my sewing,  I rearranged my sewing room and for the last week I have had a pile of fabric in my dinning room, so today I started going through it.

And I am almost done, I had to pile some of back up behind a chair, but at least it is out of the way and neatly piled. I will post more pictures when I am finished.

Frying bacon and Project Runway

My son made bacon for the first time, he was very proud. Although I think he looks way too excited in this picture, haha.

My girls decided that they both wanted to make outfits by their selves and without a pattern. Clare made hers a dress that turns into a skirt and then a shirt to go with Maria made a 2 piece outfit. I love it, listening to them was priceless. I was not allowed in the sewing room, although I did sneak in and take a few pictures.

They are a little to risque to be worn for anything other then playing inside, but the had fun and practiced their sewing skills. And they were so proud of them selves.  And I was proud of them too, all of them.

AHHH!!!

Well I have joined another home school group from our area, they are very active, meet at different times during the week and you just go to the ones that are things you would like to do and work for your schedule. And from what I've read about the members I think this will be a much better fit for us.
We have not done much school work this week, I gave everyone some handwriting, worksheets and some workbook pages to do. I have been so busy this week and it's only Tuesday, haha. I feel a little guilty when we don't have "school" time each day, but that is part of why we do this to learn in different ways, and different things and to "break" when we need to.
I really need to do some picking up and organizing around here, it drives me bonkers when the house is messy.
I hope to finish my conversion story tonight or tomorrow.
I was just fitted for a tiara, and in case you were wondering i need a big one. so says my youngest daughter.
I will be off to the fabric store soon to get some new patterns and some supplies, I have a lot of sewing to do.
I have decided to hit some up coming craft shows and swap meets to sell my wears, if any one knows of some good ones in the NE area of Illinois let me know.
I have been taking some new pictures for my profile picture, most of them did not turn out. But I think I might use one any way.
